How long have you been in education and what positions have you had?
I am completing my 7th year in education and have served Lake Travis ISD as a high school teacher, instructional coach, and, currently, as the district's PK-12 Instructional Technology Coordinator.
What would you tell a person new to this job?
Don't suffer in silence! You have generous colleagues across the state (and in your district) who would be more than happy to provide guidance, serve as a sounding board, or connect you to other resources and networks. Reach out!
What is the most unexpected challenge you have faced in this role?
Learning to operate a pallet jack in order to unload 18-wheelers full of instructional materials was not something I anticipated when I stepped into this role, but I'm better for it!
What is one skill you would love to learn and why?
I'd love to get back to playing the piano! Surely all those hours logged typing emails and creating spreadsheets will translate to another kind of keyboard!
