April 2026 - Kristen Vernon

How long have you been in education and what positions have you had?
This is my 22^nd year in education.  Before my current position as Instructional Coordinator, I taught kindergarten, coached middle school tennis and served as an instructional technology coach.

What would you tell a person new to this job?
Take a moment to absorb all the information that comes at you.  Then break it down into smaller pieces, and it is okay to not know everything right away.

What is the most unexpected challenge you have faced in this role?
Streamlining existing processes to enhance efficiency.

What is one skill you would love to learn and why?
I am eager to achieve a high level of proficiency with the Destiny  management system and leverage its full range of features to effectively support campus coordinators as new materials are acquired.
